Butters and Waxes
BEESWAX
Both the lipids and esters found in beeswax are similar to the fatty acids and esters that are naturally found in human skin. Which is why beeswax is an ideal ingredient in body butters, creams, and lotions.
COCOA BUTTER
It is derived from the oils of the cocoa bean which comes from the cacao tree. It is often used to thicken lotions, butters, balms, and salves. Cocoa butter is an excellent moisturizer and is suitable for many people with sensitive skin. It is works especially well for those with dry skin because of its emollient nature.
COCOA BUTTER WAFERS
Cocoa butter wafers offer the same benefits as cocoa butter, but they make measuring cocoa butter super easy.
shea butter
Shea Butter is an excellent moisturizer, and can soften skin damaged by dryness, dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema and even sun burns. It is used in many natural skin-care products from lip balm to moisturizers, to salves.
KOKUM BUTTER
It contains antioxidants and vitamin E, making it ideal for skin care. Kokum butter is non-greasy and gets absorbed into the skin once it is applied. It can be added to bars of soap, lotions, and lip balms.
MANGO BUTTER
It will melt into the skin. It is an excellent source of fatty acids and is ideal as an added ingredient to moisturizers. Because it is hard at room temperature, it isn’t ideal for use as a stand alone oil.
Carrier Oils
OLIVE OIL
A versatile oil that is used in many applications, including cooking, as a carrier oil, as well as in many skin and hair care products.
SHEA NUT OIL
It works well as a hair or nail conditioner or a skin moisturizer.It has both antifungal and antibacterial qualities making it ideal as a carrier oil for cleansing blends.
COCONUT OIL
It is a good moisturizer it may delay the appearance of wrinkles associated with aging. As a natural antioxidant it helps in the treatment of psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema. When cold, the oil is solid, but it has a low melting point and can be softened quickly. The oil is subtly aromatic.
TAMANU OIL
It has healing properties that make it a good germicide to kill or prevent infection. It’s used to treat skin conditions such as shingles and skin ulcers. It can heal damaged skin and promotes new tissue growth.
JOJOBA OIL
Jojoba is a naturally occurring fungicide and has a high level of iodine and vit. E which makes it good for treating skin conditions because it helps to fight infections.
SWEET ALMOND OIL
The oil is rich in vitamins A and E as well as the fatty acids, proteins, potassium and zinc. It is an excellent carrier oil or an ingredient which works well in body care products. It is an excellent moisturizer for skin and hair.
AVOCADO SEED OIL
In addition to being an edible oil it is deeply nourishing to the skin in skin care products. It is used for anti-inflammation and can be used as a carrier oil with essentials for cleansing and arthritis pain blends. It can soften chafing, cracking, scaling, and stretch marks. It is an excellent carrier oil with blends for reducing arthritis and other joint and muscular pain.
POMEGRANATE SEED OIL
The pomegranate seed oil promotes cell regeneration due to it’s ability to be absorbed into the skin, coupled with it’s ability to stimulate keratin production. It’s skin generative properties make it a good in anti-aging serums, and lotions.
GRAPESEED OIL
It’s a good oil to use in skincare products because it’s both packed with both antioxidants and vitamin c. It also helps to balance the natural oil production within the skin. Grapeseed oil is an excellent carrier oil used with many blends.
