Our second birthday giveaway comes from Tarwa Kellam of Living on a Dime.

Dining on a Dime Cookbook
Eat Better, Spend Less

by Tawra Kellam and Jill Cooper

This book contains over 1,200 recipes and money saving tips. There's lots and lots of food recipes, but also instructions for making your own playdoh, gifts in a jar, and more.

This book is packed and will keep you busy for a long time!

It helps take the thinking out of how to save money with lists of snack ideas and tips for using leftovers creatively.

Dining on a Dime is full of recipes for regular food, including a scrumptious baked chicken.

It's great for beginners and experienced cooks alike.

Tawra also shares secrets for how she spends an average of $350 per month to feed a family of six.

(The only thing I didn't like about this book was that some of the recipes use condensed soup, which is not something I buy or like to use. But using homemade versions will solve this issue.)

The money saving tips sprinkled throughout this book are just as valuable as the recipes. I like that there is an index just for the tips, too. Very handy.

Tawra writes as one who has been there. In five years Tawra and her husband paid off $20,000 personal debt on an average income of $22,000 per year; I think she knows a thing or two about living within your means and saving money!

  7. Hm. Our income is pretty similar to hers… would be interested in reading this, although I know some of the recipes are not things we would be able to use, being gluten-free and all. Nevertheless, I’m sure we could get some ideas! Please enter me. 🙂
