I used to make my own laundry detergent, but life got busy and I let it fall by the wayside. I make a lot of stuff from scratch and decided to give up making laundry soap for the time being, a least until my kids are a little older.

Since then I have been looking for detergents that are non-toxic and safe for my children to use (I like them to do their own laundry whenever possible!).

I was excited to try the Powdered Laundry Detergent from Tropical Traditions, since I've liked everything I've tried from them so far.

We've been using it for a few weeks now and are very happy with it.

Tropical Traditions Powdered Laundry Detergent:

  • Can be used at all temperatures and colors.
  • Cleans effectively in hard or soft water.
  • Is environmentally safe.
  • Contains no phosphates.
  • Is not suitable for silk or wool.
  • Is non-toxic.

  • Dissolves as well as liquid detergents and washes away completely, leaving no residue.

Besides cleaning well, this laundry detergent is fragrance free. Clothes smell naturally clean, not synthetically fragranced.

This is a big deal for my family since a lot of us are extremely sensitive to smell. I'm talking headaches and all.

  9. I really need a new laundry detergent. We are sensitive to smell, too, but commercial “free and clear” varieties don’t seem to get stains out very well.
