Michele of Frugal Granola has written a lovely e-book titled, Herbal Nurturing.
I just love that title: Herbal Nurturing. It sounds so cozy and warm.
This book is filled with tips and instructions for taking care of your family using herbs. Michele has included lots of recipes for making your own remedies including: lozenges, balms, syrups, salves, teas and more!
My favorite part is how she has made it a family resource; the instructions for each remedy include a Learn at Home option. This section has tips for including children in either making or using the remedy and/or suggests a related math, history, Bible or science activity. I love that!
My 9 year old helped me make this Sinus and Sleep Balm:
There are over 30 recipes in this 44 page e-book covering ailments such as coughs, pregnancy, childbirth, aches and pains, pink eye, scrapes, tooth aches and more.
Directions for preparing and administering each remedy are included as are cautions and urgent care options (should you run out of the particular remedy or not have the time or ingredients to make it).
There is also a great index in the back which enables you to look up a symptom and find the corresponding remedy or is some circumstances remedies.
