I thought it might be fun to share the books on my to read list for this year. Many of them are already on my shelf, waiting for me to pick them up. Let me know if you have read any of these:

The Mission of Motherhood: Touching Your Child's Heart for Eternity by Sally Clarkson

I've already started this one and LOVE it. Sally has a wonderful ability to cut to the heart of the matter and help readers see what is of true value in life.

Margin: Restoring Emotional, Physical, Financial, and Time Reserves to Overloaded Lives by Richard Swenson

I read about this book in If I'm Diapering a Watermelon, Then Where'd I Leave the Baby?: Help for the Highly Distractible Mom by Carol Barnier. It's about leaving room in our lives and putting an end to filling every spare moment. (I wouldn't know anything about that. Ahem.)

Practicing Hospitality:The Joy of serving Others by Patricia A. Ennis

Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood: Practical Parenting from Birth to Six Years by Jim Fay and Charles Fay

I'm  interested to see what this book has to say.

One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are by Ann Voskamp

My current read. I am certainly challenged by it!

You Can Raise a Well Mannered Child by June Hines Moore

I've read this one before, but want to revisit it. I love that it has age appropriate lists!

For Women Only by Shaunti Feldhahn

I've listened to most of this book on CD and it is excellent. Very insightful.

A real eye-opener for what goes on inside the heart and mind of a man.

There are a few others, but I think I'll work through these first. I'll let you know what I think about them when I'm finished.

  1. I love The Mission of Motherhood! It’s a good balance of practical ideas and just mothering in general. I am curious to hear what you think. You should do a book review for each when you’re done. 🙂 And yes, I can’t wait to get into One Thousand Gifts either!!

  2. I have The Mission of Motherhood also! I am excited to read it!

One amazing book is called Raising Godly Tomatoes… I only say that because I noticed that you had parenting books and I just finished that book and I loved every minute of it!!

    Also- I love this blog!

  3. I am very interested at The Mission of Motherhood, One Thousand Gifts, and For Women Only. I’ll have to check those out from the library. Thanks for sharing your reading list!

  4. I am loving your Motherhood series. It always gives me the push I need to pay more attention to the kind of Mother I am vs. the kind I want to be.

Every time I smile at my two year old little boy for no reason at all, he just gives me a cheesy grin right back. It always makes me laugh!

  6. Hi Stacey,

I enjoy reading your blogs. I have read ‘Created to Be His Help Meet’ by Debi Pearl. It is a great book to read. You can find her book on http://www.nogreaterjoy.org. That book is very inspiring. The website offers many different things ranging from being a help meet to our husbands to raising wonderful children.

    Blessings.
