DIY Sleep Spray
A simple sleep spray or linen spray is a great way to enhance the feeling of calm at bedtime.
It takes about one minute to put together and contains just a few ingredients.
In this blend, I'm using lavender and mandarin essential oils, but other oils would work very well too.
How to Make Sleep Spray
Ingredients:
8 drops lavender essential oil
4 drops mandarin essential oil
1 T vodka (to help preserve mixture and minimize possibility of bacteria)
2 ounces distilled water
A few other essential oil options include:
Vetiver – commonly used to enhance feelings of calm, is often added to aid in promoting sleep
Frankincense (goes very well with lavender) – well-known for its stress-reliving properties
Bergamot – useful in calming anxiety (read more about bergamot and anxiety here)
Chamomile – well known for it's relaxing benefits.
Instructions
Add essential oils and vodka to spray bottle. Fill the rest of the way with distilled water. Close tightly with lid and shake to blend.

To use:
Shake well before each use. Spray 2-3 sprays on pillow or sheets. Can even spray on pjs, if desired.
Note: not intended for use on babies or young children.
I have always used witch hazel in place of vodka. Do you know if it works just as well at keeping the bacteria out? Is there any other substitutions for vodka?
I always enjoy trying your recipes! Thank you!
