Green Tea Berry Smoothie
With berries popping up at Farmer's markets everywhere, smoothie season is also in full swing!
Smoothies are so quick to prepare and an easy way to get a lot of nutrition into one small glass. I love them.
The following recipe calls for a variety of berries and a cup of green tea. Both are full of antioxidants and give this smoothie a refreshing taste.
It’s a great way to start your day or boost your afternoon.
Green Tea Berry Smoothie
Makes about 2 cups of smoothie.
5 frozen whole strawberries
½ cup frozen blackberries
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
½ cup brewed green tea, cooled to room temperature
1/4 cup plain yogurt
½ cup cranberry juice
2 Tbsp. HoneyPut all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Tweak the ingredients to suit your taste or use what you have available. It’s hard to mess this recipe up – leave out or add other ingredients as you see fit.
This recipe is based on one I found in the January 2008 issue of Sunset magazine (it used soy milk instead of yogurt and frozen cranberries instead of the juice).
We are in the midst of MANY 100+ degree days, and this sounds so delicious and refreshing right now. YUM. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
