Lavender & Sea Salt Body Scrub | ADelightfulHome.com

This lavender and sea salt body scrub is an excellent example of how to make spa treatments at home for very little money (or effort).

Salt is an excellent exfoliator. Using a body scrub made with salt helps increase circulation and leaves skin soft, smooth, and vibrant.

Since salt can be somewhat drying; it is important to use it in conjunction with a moisturizing ingredient, such as olive oil.

Salt scrubs should not be used on skin that is damaged, delicate, or sensitive.

How to make a Lavender and Sea Salt Body Scrub

This lavender sea salt scrub is intended for use as a body scrub and not to be used on the face.

The following recipe makes enough for one full-body treatment.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup sea salt
  • 3 drops lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops sweet orange essential oil (or omit and increase lavender to 5 drops)
  • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil

Method

Mix together all of the ingredients.

If scrub appears dry, sprinkle in a tiny amount of water (up to 1/2 teaspoon)

To use:

Stand in the shower (without water running) and massage body scrub into the skin, using gentle, circular motions. Spend extra time scrubbing any areas where the skin is rough.

Stay away from the face.

Rinse off thoroughly with warm water.
