My Boy

Here is a picture of my son doing a balancing act on his sister's bed. (I'm sharing this as part of the MOB Society's Boys in Motion Link-Up)

It seems my son is always trying to balance in some crazy fashion. As a toddler her was always falling off the kitchen chairs! He doesn't fall as often these days, but still gives me plenty of reason to have a heart attack!

Sometimes I am completely in awe of the huge task before me: raising a godly man.

I wonder if I can do it. And then I remember: God gave him to me. He paired us together. A perfect match.

Parenting has pushed me way out of my comfort zone. I'm on a constant learning curve.

The brilliance behind this is that I must rely on God. I know I can't do it alone. If I try to raise my children in my own strength, I won't be very successful.

Even though I am behind in the 21 Days of Prayer for Sons challenge (remember the bad month), I am still pushing on slowly.

Praying specific character traits and scripture for my son has helped me see more clearly the areas we need to work on…both in him and in myself.

I would love give Brooke's book to every boy mom I know. It truly has the potential to change lives (if it is put into practice).

Other Mom's are linking up to the last 21 Days of Prayer link up today. Brooke says there will be another round; I highly recommend you get in on it! In the meantime, read through her posts (or buy the book). You won't be sorry.

And don't forget to join me on Tuesday for the Handmade Mother's Day Link-Up!

  2. I often wonder if I can handle the task of raising a son…and I come to the conclusion that you did; God put us together for a reason! 🙂 Boys are such a wild, wonderful blessing!

  3. What a great photo! This photo reminds me of what a balancing act it is to raise our sons–give them enough freedom to learn and explore, but give enough guidance to keep them on track for God. How comforting to know that God is with us as we do this.
