Rose-Infused Make Up Remover
Roses have an affinity for the skin and make a wonderful addition to many homemade skin care products. The following recipe for homemade eye make up remover is taken up a notch by adding roses to the mix! It can be made without the roses, of course, but they really do add a lovely scent as well as skin enhancing benefits.
To infuse your eye make up remover with roses, you'll first need to prepare rose-infused witch hazel and rose-infused jojoba oil.
To Make Rose-Infused Witch Hazel:
Ingredients
1/4 cup organic dried rose petals
1/2 cup Witch hazel
Directions
1. Place rose petals in a jar clean and sanitized jar.
2. Pour witch hazel over the rose petals ensuring the rose petals are completely covered by at least 1-2 inches.
4. Cover with lid and place out of direct sunlight.
5. Leave to infuse for 2 weeks, shaking jar occasionally.
6. Strain out the rose petals and pour infused witch hazel into a clean jar or bottle. Label. Store in a cool place.
To Make Rose-Infused Jojoba Oil:
Ingredients
1/4 cup rose petals
1/2 cup jojoba oil
Directions
1. Place rose petals in a jar clean and sanitized jar.
2. Pour jojoba over the rose petals ensuring the rose petals are completely covered by at least 1-2 inches
4. Cover with lid and place out of direct sunlight.
5. Leave to it for 1 week, shaking jar occasionally (May infuse for longer if desired, up to 2 weeks).

Rose-Infused Eye Make Up Remover Recipe
This recipe uses equal parts witch hazel, aloe vera, and jojoba oil. We are using 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon of each ingredient to reach approximately 4 tablespoons in total, which is about 2 ounces. This will then fit into a 2 ounce bottle. Feel free to adjust the amounts as desired, but keep the ratio of equal parts. Since there are no preservatives in this recipe, I suggest making small batches that can be used up in just a few weeks.
Ingredients
1 tbsp + 1 tsp rose-infused witch hazel
1 tbsp + 1 tsp rose-infused jojoba oil
1 tbsp + 1 tsp aloe vera gel
Directions
- Measure ingredients into a small bowl or glass measuring cup. Stir until well combined.
- Pour into a glass bottle, cap tightly, and add a label.
To use
Apply eye make up remover to a cotton pad and gently wipe over closed eyes to remove make up.
