This honey chicken recipe has been a family favorite for years. It's yummy with vegetables on the side (and rice if you desire).

Honey Chicken

Crock pot Honey chicken

Recipe adapted from Jonni McCoy’s book, Miserly Meals.  
Serves 4
Prep. Time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 4 hours

1 lb or 4 small chicken breasts
1/4 tsp. Curry powder
1 tsp. Cinnamon
½ cup diced onion
3 T. Oil
1/4 cup honey
½ cup chopped fresh parsley
1/4 tsp. Powdered ginger
1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
1 tsp.  Salt
1 tsp. Pepper
1/4 tsp. Paprika
½ cup water

In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients. Toss well to coat the chicken evenly.

Place the mixture in a slow cooker.  Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.

If desired, serve over rice or orzo (rice-shaped pasta).

  1. Looks delicious, Stacy! I have been using my crock pot a ton…this looks like something we’d love! I have never actually used curry powder…but I think I like it, so I’ll try this!
