Stress and worry steal joy and peace.

How do we overcome these feelings that often plague our lives?

I think the answer lies somewhere in the middle of trusting God.

Sure, many of us intellectually trust Him. But how about real, step-out-in-faith trust? How about confidence that He is doing what is good and right, even if it makes no sense to us?

That kind of trust is harder to come by.

Rest and peace is offered to us as Christians, if we can just take hold of God's hand and trust Him.

Even the faithful Christian wavers at times. We may wonder what God has planned. We may even feel abandoned by Him (even though we know we are not).

Life is hard. There is no doubt about it, we are going to comes across difficult times if we stick around long enough. But God promises to work all things together for good to those that love God. Romans 8:28 says that.

However, good doesn’t mean comfortable, or easy, or to our liking. And this is where it gets tough.

If you feel this way, I want you to know that you are not the only one. Many people do. Even King David! Check out Psalm 13. He is absolutely desperate there. But he turns to God. And we can too.

Over the next few days I want to share a few verses and thoughts about God's attributes, what makes Him trustworthy, and how we can have confidence in Him.  I hope you'll join me.

Do you trust God? Why or why not?
